Node trippin'

In September of 2016, I travelled to South East Asia for a three month work sabbatical. I met hackers and developers from all over the world, went scuba diving, and crashed a scooter.

I've always been fascinated with Asia. The culture, the history, the food. I caught wind of a rising 'digital nomad' international trend where developers travel to other countries while working remotely. So I gave up my apartment in Toronto, hitched my laptop on my back, and took off.

Over the next three months I worked in coffee shops in Malaysia, co-working spaces on the beach in Thailand, attended JavaScript meetups Taiwan, and lived in a cubicle in Tokyo.

When I wasn't coding, I learned how to scuba dive, rode my first scooter (and subsequently crashed it), and visited tons of beautiful temples, night markets, and skyscrapers.
